$178,750.00 – Improper Denial of Property Insurance Coverage

  • September 12, 2018

Our client obtained property insurance through a local insurance agency on multiple occasions. After returning home from a weekend trip, she found that a pipe in her house had burst, causing extensive damage to her home. When she made a claim for repairs with her property insurance carrier, her carrier refused to pay her claim, stating that she had falsified the application for property insurance. In fact, our client’s insurance agency reused old, outdated information from previous policies when renewing her application and never allowed our client to view the application before submission to the insurance carrier. A settlement in the amount of $178,750.00 was obtained on behalf of our client.
