Attorney Profile - Braxton Wiggs

Scott Braxton Wiggs concentrates his practice on civil litigation and the representation of victims in personal injury cases, ranging from simple negligence to catastrophic events. Mr. Wiggs’ practice also includes representing various individuals and corporations in business litigation and contract disputes. He has successfully represented clients in litigation before both State and Federal courts.

A native and longtime resident of Lakeland, Florida, Mr. Wiggs received his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida in Gainesville. In 2005, he earned his law degree from the University Of Miami School Of Law in Coral Gables, Florida. In law school, he was a negotiation competition regional finalist in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where teams from law schools throughout the South competed. Mr. Wiggs is a leader who takes the initiative in securing successful results for his clients. Before law school, he was captain of both his high school baseball and football squads, and captain of his college baseball team.

In 2006, after passing the Bar Exam on his first attempt, Mr. Wiggs was admitted to practice law in Florida. Braxton began his professional career with an Orlando law firm which specialized in defending insurance companies and their insured in all types of matters – construction disputes, personal injury cases, health insurance disputes and appeals, fraud, civil theft, ERISA claims, entertainment contracts, among many others. After a year, he moved on to practice at the Lakeland office of a large statewide law firm, Gray Robinson, where he handled numerous types of litigation and transactional matters – personal injury defense, real estate, contract and partnership disputes, general business litigation, defense of constitutional and civil rights claims, lease negotiation and drafting, fraud, civil theft, collection actions, landlord-tenant disputes, eviction actions, defense of governmental entities, eminent domain, mortgage foreclosure proceedings, construction lien foreclosure actions, and many others.

In January 2010, after three years at Gray Robinson, Mr. Wiggs joined The Pansler Law Firm. Since that time he has defended the rights of victims: those who have been involved in automobile or other accidents, those who have been injured by a faulty or misused product, and those who have been wronged by medical malpractice. In addition, Braxton has carried over his extensive litigation and transactional legal skills from his previous firms to extend The Pansler Law Firm’s range of practice areas, while maintaining its core services to injured individuals and families.

Braxton is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts, the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, and the United States Federal Court for the Middle District of Florida. Mr. Wiggs is a member of the Florida Bar as well as the Lakeland Bar Association.

Mr. Wiggs is on the Board of Governors and presides as Vice President for the Lakeland Bar Association. He has also served as a Board member of the Downtown Lakeland Partnership. He was recently selected to Leadership Lakeland Class 30.
